1. Key Polish Tax & Payroll Changes in 2026
The 2026 fiscal year in Poland introduces updated minimum wage baselines and adjusted health insurance contribution brackets for sole proprietors (B2B contractors) and salaried employees (Umowa o Pracę).
Minimum Statutory Wage
As of January 1, 2026, the statutory gross minimum wage is set at 4,806 PLN/month. This baseline dictates minimum social insurance contributions and health insurance floors.
Health Insurance (NFZ) Tiers for B2B Contractors
- Flat Lump-Sum Tax (Ryczałt): Health contributions are fixed into 3 tiers based on annual revenue:
- Revenue up to 60k PLN: 498.35 PLN/month
- Revenue 60k–300k PLN: 830.58 PLN/month
- Revenue over 300k PLN: 1,495.04 PLN/month
- Linear Tax (19%): Health insurance is 4.9% of net income (minimum 432.54 PLN/month), with an annual tax-deductible cap of 14,100 PLN.
- Tax Scale (12% / 32%): Health insurance is 9% of income (non-deductible).
2. B2B Sole Proprietorship vs Employment Contract
For high-earning professionals (e.g. IT engineers, consultants earning >15,000 PLN/month), B2B contracts using Ryczałt (12% for IT software development) provide significantly higher net cash flow compared to standard employment contracts entering the 32% tax bracket above 120,000 PLN annually.
